The Turku University sf club encourages its members (others are welcome to participate too) to donate blood on Monday the 27th. The plan is to meet at the market place (kauppatori) at 5 PM and go from there to the local donor centre of the Red Cross Blood Service.

Finland Swedish Tolkien Society Founded
Enhörningen informs us that the Swedish-speaking Tolkien fans of Finland have assembled and formed a smial (a sub-association) of the Finnish Tolkien Society. They call themselves “Lindon, Finlands Svenska Tolkien-sällskap”. The activities will, at least at first, be electronic. The linked Enhö forum is probably the best way to stay informed for now.

Note: it’s still possible to attend the convention even if you miss today’s booking deadline: you’ll just have to take care of the travel booking by yourself.
See you there!

Pub Meeting Tomorrow
Welcome again to the Turku sf pub meeting tomorrow! As usual, we meet in Bar Bremer at six. There was talk last time to try to relocate to the cabinet of the pub (long room near the Uudenmaankatu exit) it that is available—look for us there if we’re not at the usual spot.
Proposed topics for discussion: we’ve been thinking about visits to alternative locations for the pub meetings (just for a change), so come if you have an opinion. Also, I’d welcome talk about this year’s Nebula-nominated short stories and Atorox nominees. A new issue of Turu Mafia Zine will be published.
