Sf Co-operation Meeting in March
The co-operation meeting for the Finnish sf societies will be held March 4 in Tampere at the traditional winterswimmers’ sauna. It is also the 4,5-year–anniversary of Spektre.
The event starts at 3, and in addition to meeting representatives from other sf societies, there’s the anniversary celebration, including snacks, drinks, sauna (with swimming), and also the silent film The Call of Cthulhu from 2005. The cost is five euros per attendee.

Birthday Mafia
Today’s was a pub night with a birthday theme—sort of. As reported earlier, TSFS celebrated its 30-year–anniversary last weekend, and I’d made a picture report for this mafia in my fanzine (with pictures that couldn’t have been published anywhere else). Also, Tutka had a birthday (11 years) last week, but we decided not to have the traditional celebration (so as not to have too many birthday parties during one week), but asked people to come to the mafia instead—and had at least one extra person there who wouldn’t have come otherwise. Hopefully he will be seen again at future pub meetings.
And last, but also least, my fanzine, Turu Mafia Zine, had an anniversary of sorts: the tenth issue came out today. Oh, how the time flies when you’re having fun! (Well, I am anyway. Not so sure about the readers.) There was the picture report mentioned before, some fandom news and a competition with a chivalrous theme. Which was won by Tytti, congratulations. Not much improvement on the prize front this time either, I’m afraid. But will try to do better in the future. Maybe.
